Common issues: duplicate firing (one purchase counted 2–3x), wrong conversion window, counting micro-conversions (button clicks) instead of actual sales, or the tag firing on the wrong page. We audit all of these and fix what’s inflating or undercounting your numbers.
Best practice is both: a direct Google Ads conversion tag as the primary conversion action, and GA4 imported conversions as secondary. The direct tag fires faster and is more reliable. GA4 imports give you cross-channel attribution. We set up both.
Enhanced Conversions hash customer data (email, phone) at checkout and send it to Google. When a user converts but cookies are blocked or they’re on a different device, Google matches the conversion via this hashed data. Typically recovers 15–30% of lost conversions.
Google recommends at least 30 conversions per campaign per month for Smart Bidding to work well. Once tracking is fixed and data starts flowing, you typically see bidding improvement within 2–4 weeks as Google’s algorithm re-learns on real conversion signals.
