Wix has expanded significantly as an ecommerce platform and has native integrations with Meta for Pixel tracking. For Wix users running Facebook or Instagram ads, getting the Meta Pixel working correctly is the first step toward accurate campaign measurement. Here is how to do it.

Option 1: Wix Native Meta Pixel Integration

Wix provides a built-in Meta Pixel integration for all Wix Business and eCommerce plans.

Setup via Wix Dashboard

  1. In your Wix dashboard, go to Marketing & SEO → Marketing Tools → Facebook Pixel
  2. Click Connect your Facebook account
  3. Log in with your Facebook account that has access to your Meta Business Manager
  4. Select your Meta Pixel from the list
  5. Click Connect

Wix automatically places the Meta Pixel base code across all pages of your Wix website.

Option 2: Wix Tag Manager

Wix has its own tag manager system (separate from Google Tag Manager) that allows you to add tracking codes to your website without modifying Wix templates directly.

Setup via Wix Tag Manager

  1. In Wix dashboard, go to Marketing & SEO → Marketing Tools → Marketing Integrations → Tag Manager
  2. Click + Add Tag
  3. Select Custom from the tag type options
  4. Paste your Meta Pixel base code into the HTML field
  5. Set the trigger to All pages
  6. Name the tag and save

Option 3: Wix Velo (Custom Code)

Wix Velo (Wix’s developer platform) allows you to add custom JavaScript to your Wix pages. This is the most flexible option but requires Wix Velo/Corvid knowledge.

Using Velo, you can add the Meta Pixel to the site’s global header (via Site → Add Custom Code) and fire custom events by adding JavaScript to specific page scripts.

Tracking Purchase Events on Wix

The native Wix Meta integration automatically fires a Purchase event on the order confirmation page for Wix Stores (ecommerce). This works without any additional code for stores using Wix’s built-in shopping cart and checkout.

If your Wix store uses a third-party checkout or has a non-standard order flow, the native integration may not capture all purchases. Use the Wix Tag Manager to add a manual Purchase event on the order confirmation URL.

Verifying Your Wix Meta Pixel

Install the Meta Pixel Helper Chrome extension. Visit your Wix website:

Limitations of Wix Meta Pixel Tracking

No native Conversions API

Wix’s native Meta integration does not include server-side CAPI. For server-side tracking on Wix, you would need to use Zapier (triggering from Wix order webhooks), or build a custom backend integration using Wix Velo and the Meta CAPI endpoint.

Limited event parameter customisation

The native Wix integration sends standard event parameters but may not include all the custom parameters you could send with a manually configured pixel (such as full item arrays for purchase events). For stores with complex product catalogs or Dynamic Ads needs, a manual implementation via Velo may be more appropriate.

Get Your Wix Tracking Verified

The native Wix Meta integration is straightforward but verify it is actually capturing all purchase events before running significant ad spend on its data. A single checkout flow test with the Pixel Helper open confirms whether the implementation is working end-to-end.
